Mims Ballew Hollingsworth is proud to announce that our member attorney Matt Riek has been named to the Board of Directors of the HEB ISD Education Foundation. Riek, a highly respected family law attorney and mediator, brings a wealth of experience to this new role.

Before joining Mims Ballew Hollingsworth, Riek served as an Associate Judge for the 360th District Court in Fort Worth, where he presided over complex family law cases. He is also a trained professional mediator for the state of Texas and is Board Certified® in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His experience in family law and his dedication to the community make him an excellent fit for the foundation’s mission.

The HEB ISD Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 1995, is dedicated to raising and awarding private funds and community resources to support the HEB ISD’s commitment to excellence in education. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded almost $1.9 million in grants to classrooms and campuses through its “Empowered to Excel” grant program. These grants have funded innovative initiatives like teaching history through graphic novels, STEM clubs, and parent engagement programs. The foundation also supports other district initiatives, such as the HEB ISD Student Showcase and the HEB Reads program. We are excited to see the positive impact Matt will have on the foundation and the students and staff of HEB ISD.
